There were significant differences in the markets. While Germany did not have credit cards, France and Spain preferred the use of credit cards. The UK on the other hand had varying rates. Italy and Belgium also used credit cards on a minimal scale. The risk was varying rates. However, SFC rose from a small division and by 2006 it acquired Drive in the US and to a thriving business in many European countries and other countries. In 2006, it was able to acquire Drive in the USA followed by Mexico and Russia in 2007 (Gunnar, et al 3). By this time, it was operating in 20 countries and contributing to 5% of the total group work force with 8% of the bank’s profits.
